This new build in the Maravilla development of the Twin Dolphin Montage resort in Cabo San Lucas was a dream. There are so many details and personal touches, there’s not space to mention all of them. But look around and soak up each photo… there are surprises everywhere!
No Feet Allowed
The locally-sourced custom sofa was designed to comfortably sink into after a long day at the beach. The oversized 84” footstool with Italian blue leather is an eye-catching centerpiece. The owner also expressed a distaste for ‘feet’ on furniture, influencing our creative direction and the creation of custom pieces! So, while scrolling through the photos, notice nearly everything has a sled leg, base, or is solid to the floor.
Local Masterworks
Our in-house plaster artist created a hidden mermaid on the wall behind the dining room table using genuine gold leaf accents! It blends into the detail and texture and is only seen when looking for it. A fabulous 8-foot pelican plaster painting, a Japanese silk watercolor, real stone wall in one of the bedrooms and a moody ocean scene are also invaluable additions by the artist to make sure this home stands apart and speaks to anyone who enters.
Hybrid Outdoor Living
One of our tasks was to honor the undisrupted ocean view of the property, offered by the wraparound deck. With over 1000 sqft of outdoor living, this property certainly needed an intentional application of flora. We incorporated Mediterranean plants, rather than just the usual cacti, to soften and round out the space. We complemented with citronella around the perimeter to ward away the summer mosquitos.
A Family Getaway
The challenges of this property began as we needed to satisfy the wishes and requests of the owner plus three adult siblings who each have their own style. Creating a coherent, seamless vacation home was essential, but livability and functionality was at the forefront of necessity.
